Notable Call Outs:

As a team, and as individuals, we consider it a duty to participate in community searches for missing / lost children and / or missing persons.

For example, the month of August 2005 was notably busy for the York Regional Police with such incidents in the areas of Newmarket, Markham, north of Toronto.  An aggregate total of over 1,300 community residents volunteered to help in the YRP organised searches.  The DVR team also volunteered and was called out, to participate in a number of these occasions.

Monthly:

Team Meeting, usually the third Wednesday or Thursday of the month.  There are various training sessions on an as needed basis, such as familiarization with team procedures.  In addition there are various courses such as Red Cross, St. John First Aid (w/C.P.R), F.A.S.T. Rescue (First Responder) and others.  Usually combined with the monthly meetings are pre event briefings and planetary sessions, which are followed with debriefings immediately after the event.  We are always honing our skills.
