This website is dedicated to providing information of interest to REACT teams in southern Ontario, Canada, the United States and around the world.  It is also a resource for those interested in becoming REACT members.

Don Valley REACT is a non-profit organization comprised of private citizens who voluntarily provide assistance as a public service to the community.  REACT's mandate is to assist in emergencies and/or community  events by providing communications and support services to local authorities and other organizations.

REACT was founded in 1962, by Pete Kreer.  Pete was able to get help to a young couple stranded on the freeway in Chicago Illinois, during a winter snow storm, using a mobile C.B. radio.  His dream was for a simple network of volunteer monitors in every town and city who would respond to calls for help and relay their messages to the local agencies in their communities responsible for providing needed help.

With a strong demand for an organization with diverse capabilities, Don Valley REACT has evolved from the traditional communications role: it now provides a multitude of services, including advanced first aid, traffic routing & direction, event public safety, emergency planning, resource allocation layouts.  All members are also part of the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Services Team.
